I’m out for a chilly walk yesterday. I told the husband that since he wanted to watch the bantamweight boxing on TFC I would take my “me” time going solo. It’s good to be alone at times esp during our down moments. I mean during our PMS blah thing. That’s an excuse? hehe…
I did some little shopping too. Department stores and shops are just a walking distance away from our place, besides walking can be fun except for the nasty cold weather.
I hit this place for a recession-friendly shopping spree. It’s a huge place where you could find almost everything a ladies wants. I called it Greenhills in Jinan…a shopping haven for us women.
I got myself a new bags, I bought two. Some people who are close to me knows that I am a bag mania. The husband even calls me bag-addict
and oh…I’ve always had his support in my addiction hehe! I think majority naman ng mga babae, we ladies love to drool over gorgeous dresses, new bags and accessories right?
Speaking, I was browsing some accessories from Baby Phat website a couple of days ago, I was just dribbling because it’s too pricey for my budget. Not practical to spend hundreds of USD for a fancy accessories. Of course I do love branded stuff but those extravagance days are gone, I was once a brand concious aficionada, I loved a good bargain more better and some simple put-it-together-yourself design, I’m proud to say that I am a smart shopper now….wooot!
Sounds like I’m a fashionista? Nope,…but fashion designing is one of my passion. I designed my wedding gown and was happy to hear those positive remarks from friends and guests. Natuwa din ako when my dressmaker told me na maraming nagandahan sa design ng wedding gown ko when she displayed it in her shop. I also designed my nieces promenade dress and even some of my outfit. Hobby lang.
Back to accessories…I found almost similar design of bracelet I saw at Baby Phat’s, a rope toggle chain type. The price is 138 RMB (Php 700++) not too pricey compared to BP which is a whooping USD 170, whoa mahal! I still want to haggle for a more lower price I could get, hey..it’s global crisis ‘no? I’m not very good in arguing with the price but I’ll try lah!
Here’s our convi (just dont know the exact spelling of pin yin)
Me: ni haw, tuo sha qian? (hello..how much is it)
Saleslady: Chi ga, yi bai san shi ba. (this one, it’s 138 yuan)
Me: Ta gwe lah, pian yi qian. wu shi. (It’s expensive, give me a discount price. Say 50 yuan)
She detected that I’m not a local because of my “barok” mandarin. She smiled asking me where I came from. She seems excited upon learning that I’m a foreigner and she even told her stall neighbors that I’m from PH. Haha, pinagtsismisan nila ako. Hindi naman nakaka offend kasi tuwang tuwa sila. Iilan lang kasi ang foreigner dito sa Peng lai city lalo na’t Filipino.
Back to price haggle juggle….
Me: Wei, wu shi ga…wo me-yo qian chu fan (give it to me for 50, I don’t have much money left for my lunch) bwa haha!
They laughed. Di daw sila naniniwala…
Saleslady: hao lah, chi ga liu shi..blah blah ( Okay, let’s meet @ 60 yuan blah blah) I don’t understand the rest of blah blah
Thank goodness, bago pa ako nagka-nosebleed!
Got it for almost a half price. Hmm…not a drool worthy stuff but just to add a little oomph to my outfit.
I went back home whistling and still giddy from my shopping spree. The husband jokingly asked me…”still sad?”
“No, maybe by next weekend!” I replied. He he…

My cheap thrill…..
